About The Position

The Planner / Urban Designer / Landscape Architect at Psomas will be part of a talented planning and design team, working full-time on a variety of landscape architecture and land planning design projects across the Western US. The role involves site and open space design, master planned communities, and urban developments, among other responsibilities, contributing to the creation of innovative and sustainable environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field (e.g., Landscape Design, Planning, Environmental Planning).
  • 1+ year of experience in urban design planning and/or landscape architecture.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to network with clients and build relationships.
  • Knowledge of Planning and Zoning ordinances, codes, and processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently/accurately under pressure.
  • Strong skills across a wide range of productivity and design programs (AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office Suite).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field (e.g., Landscape Design, Planning, Environmental Planning).
  • Basic knowledge of planting design and irrigation systems.
  • Skills in advanced programs such as LandFX, SketchUp (or equivalent 3D modeling program), ArcGIS, Infraworks, Civil3D.
  • Skills in hand drawings/renderings.

Responsibilities

  • Designing conceptual land planning, planting, and irrigation plans for various projects from concept through construction documents in CAD.
  • Preparing planning and entitlement documents for a variety of design projects.
  • Collaborating directly with internal and external clients.
  • Creating illustrative exhibits including 3D models, plan review, and sketches.
  • Producing estimates and material needs for projects.
