Job Summary: The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resources and minimizing production costs. This role requires close collaboration with purchasing, manufacturing, inventory, and sales teams to align production plans with demand forecasts and material availability.

Requirements

  • Experience as a production planner, scheduler, or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in SAP and with personal computers and software (i.e. Excel, Word).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and functions, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Possess skills in change management and pro-active problem solving.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
  • High energy/self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts, sales orders, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure raw materials and components are available for scheduled production.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet customer deadlines and manage unexpected delays.
  • Analyze production capacity and resource utilization to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production and quality control teams to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Prepare reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and order status.
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, material usage, and inventory movements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure alignment on priorities and deadlines.
