About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the production process within the manufacturing environment. Their primary role is to ensure that production activities are carried out efficiently and on time based on MRP, while meeting the company’s standards, customer requirements and minimizing overall inventory. In addition, providing technical expertise for SAP related inquires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university: and/or two years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. This would include demonstrated proficiency in MRP.
  • Significant knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge in creating Excel spreadsheets, Pivot charts, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and optimizing the production process within a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, sales forecasts and production capacity.
  • Analyze demand and supply to create a balanced production plan that maximizes efficiency and minimizes downtime.
  • Create daily, weekly, monthly production schedules to optimize the use of resources, including labor, equipment and materials.
  • Prioritize production orders based on factors like customer deadlines, material availability and production constraints.
  • Interface with Buyers, Supervisor, M.E.’s and production floor to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Assist in any SAP related questions/functions.
  • Use MRP (Material Requirement Planning) to plan, release and level production.
  • Analyzing Performance Metrics: Reviewing production performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, production efficiency, production order variances, and inventory turnover. Using this data to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements in scheduling and production planning. Implementing best practices, new technologies, or methodologies to enhance scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
