About The Position

Amentum is seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler/Coordinator for our operations and maintenance team in Long Island, NY. Your primary function is to plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for a team of facility maintenance technicians. You will act as a liaison between Amentum staff, subcontractors, and clients for the performance of maintenance work orders. As the Planner/Scheduler/Coordinator, you will work with technical leads and technicians to prioritize and plan work according to facility requirements. Daily duties include: Scope out work order requests, build executable job plans, and assign and schedule work orders to crafts. Research parts, order parts in the CMMS, and follow up on parts arrivals according to planned schedule. Lead daily scheduling meetings and weekly work order scheduling/coordination meetings. Create, update, and modify locations and assets in the CMMS. Reserve parts/materials to work orders for kitting, if applicable. Analyze CMMS data and trends. Distribute Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and planned work orders in the form of a weekly schedule and assist with subcontractor job coordination. Collaborate with Technical leads and technicians to properly plan work orders including material management, task estimating for budgetary approval and customer communication. Update PM job plans and frequencies within the CMMS through a PM Optimization program. Analyze and report out on work order data such as PM compliance, backlog, response and cycle times, labor metrics, and additional reports as requested for monthly reporting to client, Area Manager, and Supervisor. Work with the Supervisor, Leads, Technicians, and Procurement to ensure accurate and timely communication with the requestor(s) regarding status of work orders such as awaiting parts, on hold, or rescheduled work. Provide management and direction for subcontractor work and direct interface with subcontractors in day-to-day activities. May be asked to obtain quotes from subcontractors. Demonstrate a strong understanding of skilled crafts such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pipe fitting, etc. Comply with established safety and environmental policies/procedures such as job hazard analysis/task hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, odor notification permits, and the use of PPE. Perform under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in problem resolution. Communicate facilities requirements to team leaders. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of Facility Planning experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of skilled crafts such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pipe fitting, etc.
  • Comply with established safety and environmental policies/procedures such as job hazard analysis/task hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, odor notification permits, and the use of PPE.
  • Perform under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in problem resolution.
  • Communicate facilities requirements to team leaders.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in a CMMS such as Maximo, SAP, or an equivalent program.
  • Preventive and/or Predictive maintenance planning experience.
  • Ability to coordinate parts and assign the appropriate skilled labor to ensure successful completion.
  • Ability to write processes and procedures related to facility maintenance work.
  • Practical experience with continuous improvement techniques such as Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance, Six Sigma, 5S, Toyota Production Systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of an effective safety culture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Demonstrated skills in organization and time management.
