About The Position

The Instrument/Electrical Planner position at LyondellBasell is a key role within the maintenance planning team at the LaPorte manufacturing site. This position focuses on planning and scheduling maintenance functions specifically for electrical equipment, requiring a strong background in instrumentation and electrical knowledge. The planner will develop job packages for repair work and improvement projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational workflows.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an instrument/electrical/analyzer maintenance technician in a petrochemical or refining environment.
  • Attentive listening and good communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to quality and safety.
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented.
  • Strong computer skills in SAP, Windows applications, and E-mail.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for personal safety and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Responsible for daily planning of work and creating equipment task lists.
  • Ensures adherence to the Maintenance and Operations Workflow Process (MOWP).
  • Works with the Purchasing Group to procure materials and services.
  • Actively participates in planning and scheduling meetings.
  • Communicates with supervisors and specialists to solicit feedback on job plans.
  • Assists in the creation and/or changes of equipment BOM's.
  • Provides support for site emergency maintenance issues during off-hours.
  • Reviews backlog and planner priorities list for duplicates.
  • Groups notifications together for optimized resource utilization.
  • Ensures plans meet the timing requirements of process units.
  • Checks for understanding of scope through notification text and field walks.
  • Builds job plans with special instructions and required skills.
  • Assembles job packages in preparation for job execution.
  • Utilizes previous repair history and condition monitoring data for scope development.
  • Participates in identifying and implementing reliability-driven improvements.
  • Ensures critical PM's are planned and released prior to scheduling date.
  • Ensures PHA findings and safety work orders are planned and released prior to scheduling date.
  • Ensures MOCs are authorized prior to releasing jobs.
  • Assures I&E jobs meet site standards.
  • Performs monthly reviews on Planned vs Actual Cost/Hours.
  • Creates job plans utilizing Equipment Task Lists.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
