About The Position

Holland America Line and Seabourn offer world-renown vacations at sea to travelers around the globe. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic, unified organization as part of their highly experienced team in our corporate office. We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planner I to join our dynamic team in Seattle. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our operations run smoothly by designing and executing strategic crew rotation schedules. Your mission: to maintain a full roster of qualified, competent personnel across assigned disciplines-balancing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with operational standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) for negotiating, responding and resolving complex, sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Ability to analyze, negotiate, respond and resolve complex, sensitive and confidential issues and communicate clearly (verbally and written) will all levels of employees, management and customers.
  • Proficient in the use of computer business applications with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
  • Well-developed planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage competing priorities, to meet frequent deadlines and to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

Responsibilities

  • Effectively develops and maintains cost effective and progressive shipboard schedules for the crew under the disciplines assigned.
  • Accounts for shortages and prepares contingency plans ensuring replacements are arranged to avoid extended periods of shortfall.
  • Collaborates with shipboard management and operational departments identify manning issues and develop planning solutions.
  • Resolves escalated issues from shipboard management, shore side management and recruiting offices.
  • Ensures proper and timely communication is maintained at all times with shipboard management, shore side management and recruiting offices.
  • Consistently delivers on commitments to external and internal business partners.
  • Reviews MAPS data for accuracy in travel days, leave accrual and MAPS exception reports, etc.
  • Monitors output of Automated Planning Tools.
  • Any special projects or duties as assigned by the manager.

  • Base Hourly Range: $22.79 to $30.77. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
