Wake County Planning & Development Services is seeking a Planner I to join the County team as a permanent full-time employee. This position will perform basic to moderately professional-level planning by administering the Unified Development Ordinance; work involving professional studies, research, analysis, report writing on planning, subdivision, and zoning issues, and interpreting and enforcing zoning and subdivision laws. Position involves regular project management responsibility under general direction. This will include efforts in the office, field, and other work venues as needed. This position works Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) 8:30 AM – 5:15 PM. This may be adjusted based on organizational needs which includes efforts in the office, field, and other work venues as needed. During the first year of employment, the employee will be in-office full time. There may be capacity for remote work on occasion after the one-year.
