About The Position

The Planner I position at Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries involves overseeing routings and bills of material (BOMs) to support material resource planning (ERP) requirements. The role requires collaboration with various internal departments to ensure timely communication regarding lead times, schedule impacts, and material shortages, ultimately supporting the production team in meeting customer commitments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in planning and/or production control preferred but not required
  • Experience utilizing an ERP/MRP system
  • Good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to think logically and methodically
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Decision-making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of standard manufacturing and safety compliance processes

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and improving the Routers
  • Creating and distributing the Work Order packages, consisting of Pick Tickets and Routers, per the Planning schedule
  • Monitor and systemically close each router step when completed
  • Confers with department management to determine the status of assigned projects
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Informs Purchasing to expedite specific material to meet delivery commitments
  • Ensures system integrity through maintenance of system records, routers, and work orders
  • Monitors ERP, shortage lists, and related indicators to ensure 100% material availability and on-time customer delivery
  • Participates in teams to help make necessary improvements and changes to process-related issues
  • Attends cross-functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering to ensure a smooth flow of materials through production processes
  • Identifies and communicates a detailed status on any material planning items impacting the production schedule
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations regarding workflows, processes, and products
