About The Position

This position reports to the Assistant Plant Operations Manager and is responsible for planning/scheduling manufacturing jobs as well as leading our procurement activities to support production requirements. They will schedule using digital solutions including, but not limited to an ERP system. This individual will prioritize and maintain the production schedule for multiple resource groups and work directly with the leadership team to keep an accurate schedule and manage priorities. The majority of our jobs require long lead Bill of Materials so this individual will be able to oversee our production plan since they will have first-hand knowledge of supply chain facts and figures.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Materials Management, Business, Marketing or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain, production, scheduling and/or materials preferred.
  • Ability to perform complex problem solving
  • Must have strong analytical, statistical, and critical thinking skills experience with MS Excel and MS Word is required
  • Excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication, and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and production.
  • Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Knowledge of Epicor ERP preferred (or equivalent advanced knowledge of a comparable ERP software required)

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes and manages the daily schedule on the production floor.
  • Collaborates with Operations as well as Customers to create efficient plans to meet the scheduled objectives.
  • Maintain the daily production schedule with digital solutions including, but not limited to an ERP system (Epicor) as well as MS Office applications.
  • Review scheduled capacity and work with operations, vendors, and customers to resolve constraints
  • Interact with all production departments in order to full fill customer commitments
  • Communicate schedule improvements/delays to customers
  • Create and distribute production job materials using our ERP system including, but not limited to job routers
  • Data mine for supporting documents that will be utilized during contract review such as filed last production runs for the same parts
  • Maintain and manage approved supplier list
  • Quote and Procure bill of material items to support production i.e. raw materials, tooling, outside services
  • Solicit RFQs to achieve best price, quality, and delivery
  • Support data collection for quoting purposes such as price and lead time for B.O.M. items
  • Report expected work order completion by day, week, month, etc…
  • Analyze standard run time against actual run time and report out during leadership reviews
  • Review work in progress and make changes if required for specific serialized products
  • Collaborate with Operations Leadership in order to manage all Work In Progress for assigned resources
  • Ensure on-time deliveries for all acknowledged and confirmed orders
  • Assist in offering realistic dates for new orders during the sales order confirmation process as well as contract review weekly meeting
  • Communicate discrepancies and potential schedule misses to leadership as well as customers once aligned internally
  • Support MRB process with appropriate response to issues with internal and external supplier quality
  • Support NPI launches with planning and execution of first part and production flow decisions
