About The Position

We are hiring a Planner, Buyer to join our Strategic Sourcing team! DISCOVER Are you energized by the challenge of ensuring the right materials are at the right place at the right time? As a Planner, Buyer, you will manage assigned commodities, maintain supplier schedules, and support production plans with precision. You’ll work cross‑functionally with Sourcing, Quality, Production, Demand Management, and global suppliers to maintain continuity of supply and drive continuous improvement. This role sits at the center of a fast‑moving supply chain and is ideal for someone who enjoys analysis, planning discipline, supplier partnership, and making a measurable operational impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or equivalent experience
  • 1–2 years of purchasing or planning experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage complex commodities, including negotiation, cost, and inventory management
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills
  • MS Office proficiency with an emphasis on Excel; ERP experience required
  • Familiarity with procurement techniques such as VMI, consignment, Kanban, or Min/Max
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, technical documents, and supplier specifications

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CPIM or CPM certification preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Mandarin a plus

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage detailed purchase and replenishment schedules using analytical tools to meet build plans across multiple product lines. Communicate shortages early, identify root causes, and lead risk‑mitigation actions that protect the schedule.
  • Monitor and manage $40M–$60M in inventory value to meet corporate targets. Identify excess and obsolete material, drive MRB disposition with Quality, and maintain healthy replenishment parameters.
  • Issue and manage global purchase orders, maintain planning horizons and forecasts, support import/export documentation, and collaborate with suppliers to improve lead times, service levels, and cost performance.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities through commodity analysis, RFQs, logistics optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain ERP planning parameters and Item Master data. Review invoice exceptions, support engineering changes, and ensure data accuracy across assigned parts.
  • Partner with Production, Demand Management, Quality, Accounting, and Sourcing to ensure aligned decisions that support operational needs and customer commitments.
