IPS is seeking talented individuals to join our team where your expertise and dedication will be valued and drive our success. Here, you’ll find a dynamic environment that offers job stability, professional growth, and competitive compensation. As a crucial member of our team, you’ll support our locations around North America, partnering to ensure continued success. If you’re detail-oriented, dedicated, and thrive in a rapidly evolving setting, IPS is the perfect place for you to make a real difference. Responsibilities and Expectations: As a Planner Buyer Coordinator for IPS, you will be handling the day-to-day purchasing of materials and supplies in a timely manner as required. This role ensures that specialized parts are available for both planned preventive maintenance and emergency repair projects. You will balance the urgency of motor-down situations with the cost-efficiencies of strategic sourcing. Develop and manage the production schedule for electric motor repairs, generator sets, and switchgear services. Coordinate with Shop Foremen and Field Service Technicians to prioritize "rush" repairs for critical infrastructure clients. Align material arrivals with shop capacity to minimize "work-in-progress" (WIP) dwell time. Source and purchase specialized components such as magnet wire, VPI resins, babbitt bearings, and power electronics. Manage relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and secondary market suppliers to find obsolete or long-lead-time parts. Review technical specifications and blueprints to ensure purchased materials meet NEMA or IEEE standards. Manage Service Stock inventory, ensuring high-turn consumables are always available for field kits. Oversee the logistics of heavy equipment transport, including coordinating freight for oversized motors or transformers. Track Core returns and warranty claims with vendors for failed power components. Support the Job Costing process by providing accurate material estimates for customer quotes. Working weekends and after-hours may be required based on customer emergencies, critical plant shutdowns, or month-end inventory deadlines. Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process Systems (CIPS).
