Performs independent review of a broad range of civil infrastructure plans and exercises professional judgment in applying municipal standards and requirements. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 3–6 years of progressively responsible experience in: Civil plan review
- 3–6 years of progressively responsible experience in: Municipal public works engineering
- 3–6 years of progressively responsible experience in: Private land development or infrastructure design
- Strong working knowledge of: Grading and drainage design
- Strong working knowledge of: Stormwater management and LID requirements
- Strong working knowledge of: Water, sewer, and storm drain infrastructure
Nice To Haves
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Prior experience supporting California cities, counties, or special districts
- Familiarity with: Greenbook (Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction)
- Familiarity with: Caltrans standards and specifications
- Familiarity with: County drainage, hydrology, or flood control manuals
- Strong written communication and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a consultant support role
Responsibilities
- Independently review civil plans and technical documents
- Coordinate directly with applicants and municipal staff
- Provide responses to technical questions regarding comments and corrections
- Independently evaluate coordination between multiple civil disciplines and supporting documents
- Identify and resolve plan coordination issues affecting constructability, quantities, or compliance
- Participate in technical coordination meetings or calls with project engineers as needed
