About The Position

The Employment Specialist plays a key role in supporting individuals through intake, assessment, development of Individual Program Plans (IPPs), job training, job placement, and ongoing job coaching. This position also engages in employer development and sales activities to identify new employment opportunities and support business partnerships. You will collaborate closely with participants, families, caregivers, funding sources, and employers—ensuring services are person-centered, compliant with regulatory requirements, and aligned with Entrusts mission.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to pass a WA State background check and mandatory drug screen.
  • Knowledge of IPP processes, human service systems, advocacy, and employment practices.
  • Ability to develop goals, conduct assessments, and prepare technical reports.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbally—when addressing diverse groups.
  • Ability to problem-solve, organize workload, and make sound decisions.
  • Competency in sales techniques, recruiting, and customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems (Setworks experience a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and in team-based environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Operations, Human Services, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in sales, marketing, employer outreach, or job development.
  • One year of experience in human services or supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct participant intakes, assessments, and work evaluations.
  • Develop, update, and maintain Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and training plans.
  • Facilitate planning sessions and ISP meetings.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and documentation in Setworks.
  • Complete service notes and input service hours within required timelines.
  • Monitor participant progress and adjust training strategies as needed.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support.
  • Teach self-management and workplace success skills.
  • Identify and address barriers to employment (attendance, behavior, hygiene, etc.).
  • Advocate for participants’ rights and support workplace integration.
  • Assist with workplace accommodations, task analysis, and skill building.
  • Provide orientation to new job sites and help participants acclimate.
  • Develop fading plans to support increasing independence.
  • Identify and develop new business/employment opportunities.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with employers and community partners.
  • Conduct presentations promoting Entrusts services.
  • Generate, track, and follow up on employment leads.
  • Maintain weekly employer database updates and submit required reports.
  • Participate in sales goal-setting and process improvement activities.
  • Communicate regularly with funding agencies, families, and caregivers.
  • Coordinate coverage with team members when needed.
  • Identify and refer participants to community resources as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
