About The Position

Data engineering is the aspect of data science that focuses on practical applications of data collection and analysis. This role primarily will become proficient with all internal & external data produced and consumed by The Hanover Group. The engineer will understand where the data is, basic data models and architecture, how to access and obtain data, and how to manipulate and work with data to produce output - which may be reports, datasets, or self-service reports.

Requirements

• Typically has 0-2 years related experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Technical skills: ETL (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, etc.), Some Data Modeling, SQL, Data Management, and Documentation.
• Analytical Skills: Inquisitive and curious.
• Communication Skills: Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.
• Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze numbers, trends, and data to come to new conclusions.
• Attention to Detail: Vigilant in analysis to come to correct conclusions.
• Math Skills: Ability to estimate numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in nature.
• Learning the structure of the organization and begin the process of understanding, accessing, and obtaining data for business partner requests.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends.
• Implement new data pipelines and models as needed for specific models or analysis.
• Documents the development and the design of the solutions built.
