About The Position

SAGE Dining Services is seeking an experienced Cook with strong pizza-making skills to join our culinary team at a boarding school in Wallingford, Connecticut. SAGE seeks individuals passionate about food and community to create healthy, exciting restaurant-quality meals from scratch with strong pizza-making skills to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and brings expertise in working with raw dough, stone ovens, and traditional pizza preparation techniques. Previous experience in a dedicated pizza restaurant is highly preferred, Proven ability to handle and stretch raw dough by hand, skilled in working with stone or wood-fired ovens. The shift would be 9:45 am-2:30pm then back at 3:45 pm- 8:15 pm based on availability.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas using raw dough and fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Operate and maintain a stone oven to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection.
Follow and execute pizza recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications consistently.
Monitor food quality and ensure all pizzas meet our restaurant's standards.
Assist with prep work and cooking of other menu items as needed.
