About The Position

The Detroit Tigers are looking for a motivated, energetic, and dedicated individual to serve as Lakeland Flying Tigers Pitch Clock Operator in Lakeland, FL.

Requirements

  • Familiar with the Official Baseball Rules.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be able to handle live, fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
  • Collaborative spirit with colleagues at MLB.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • If necessary, must be able to work long hours.
  • Available to work all Flying Tigers home games.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in training sessions provided by Major League Baseball (MLB) when necessary and reasonably required.
  • Arrive at the ballpark 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
  • Monitor and reset pitch clock timers following every pitch and when rules call for other resets and countdowns.
  • Operate equipment quickly and efficiently including set up and shut down before and after each game.
  • Troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly.
  • Be courteous, friendly, reliable and punctual.
  • Work with the official scorer, umpires and select Flying Tigers personnel in interpreting results and violations of the pitch clock in conjunction with official rules and regulations from MLB.
