About The Position

IMI is seeking a full-time experienced Piping Project Manager local to the upstate, SC area. The Piping Project Manager will oversee industrial piping projects from planning to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of piping systems, the ability to perform accurate take-offs, and the communication skills needed to work effectively with customers, field leadership, and internal teams. Where necessary and applicable, coordinate and/or assist in the duties below:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 3-5 years of experience in industrial piping project management or supervision is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and installation processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including P&IDs.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, budgeting, and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems quickly.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Experience in managing piping crews in industrial settings.
  • Computer experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, Outlook, and project management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in fabrication, welding procedures, and field installation are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage piping projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Perform detailed material take-offs and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and other technical drawings.
  • Coordinate with customers, general contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, design conflicts, or material constraints.
  • Lead and support field teams, including Foreman and General Foreman.
  • Ensure all work meets company and client safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Prepare and track change orders, RFI documentation, and project reporting.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through clear and proactive communication.
