The Role: The Piping Mechanic is responsible for assisting the job site crew with the installation of mechanical piping systems that bring the building to life. Job sites will vary amongst commercial projects throughout the area. Projects will mainly consist of K-12, University, and Healthcare buildings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of trade principles and concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety and following established protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational school or prior training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge in the mechanical piping trade in either welding (carbon steel pipe), pipe fitting, or both
  • Welding experience a plus - Stick welding on pipe
  • Ability to read and interpret construction/coordination drawings and blueprints
  • Work as a trainer and mentor for helpers and apprentices
  • Must be open to helping other mechanical trades as needed - you will not weld all day, every day.
  • Must be dependable and willing to complete a project from start to finish
  • Must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation
