Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of your trade profession and a thorough understanding of OSHA requirements in the construction sector.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with effective communication abilities, essential for seamless field operations.
  • Proficient in comprehending industry-specific code requirements and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and set elevations accurately for duct system layout.
  • Experience in detailing various equipment such as fan coils, air handlers, pumps, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, vav's, heat exchangers, and fixtures.
  • Strong language and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Possession of a City of Phoenix Journeyman license is required.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and maneuvering heavy objects, and working in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the safety culture at CSUSASW, fostering a team environment across all departments.
  • Collaborate closely with the project management team to review and understand project plans, specifications, and scopes.
  • Prepare detailed weekly 3-week lookahead schedules, ensuring optimal manpower allocation and timely submission to project management.
  • Coordinate effectively with the General Foreman and/or Superintendent to address manpower needs and maintain proper crew ratios.
  • Conduct daily inspections for installation quality and safety compliance, enforcing code standards.
  • Manage and maintain all company assets, including electronic devices and tools, in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide on-the-job training opportunities and mentorship to journeymen and apprentices.
  • Forge professional relationships with General Contractors and Engineers, representing CSUSASW in a positive light.
  • Oversee and actively participate in onsite staff meetings and jobsite meetings, ensuring project progress and coordination among crews and trades.
  • Maintain up-to-date "as-builts" and progress drawings, organizing job sites to minimize material handling.
  • Manage 1-3 Lead personnel overseeing 10 or more employees in lead positions, along with direct supervision of approximately 1-20 non-supervisory employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and applicable laws, including training, work assignment, and conflict resolution.
