About The Position

In this role, you will plan, develop, and review Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure PD&P designs comply with all regulations and standards. This position will report to the Plant Design Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS) or Deputy EGS. #LI-SNH "This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership"

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Hands-on experience using a 3D piping design platform such E3D/PDMS, SmartPlant, PlantSpace, etc
  • Hands-on experience using a 3D isometric extraction program.
  • Extensive knowledge & application of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 codes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior nuclear piping and layout experience.
  • Previous Bechtel Engineering project experience.

Responsibilities

  • 3D modeling of piping systems and equipment in a 3D model environment.
  • Prepare drawings/documents for plot plans/general arrangements and piping isometrics drawings.
  • Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e., input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines.
  • Assist with plans and schedules and prepare/maintain design procedures, standards to provide quality design documents.
  • Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of piping designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc.
  • Perform coordination review of specifications and vendor documents as required.
  • Ensure adherence to piping codes such as ASME B31.3 or B31.1.
