About The Position

We are looking for a Piping Designer/Drafter to work on-site at a client facility in Canton, OH. The Piping Designer/Drafter will assist with the development, design, and drafting of 3D CAD-based mechanical and piping drawings. This is a permanent, direct hire position. Candidates for this position should have large-scale plant and industrial chemical experience. This is an ON-SITE position and remote candidates cannot be considered. Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant work experience, specifically with industrial CAD design
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Authorizes a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
  • Submits to a drug test post offer
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license
  • Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel
  • Willingness to commute to office location at least 3 days per week
  • Ability to collaborate with others in an on-site, team environment
  • Demonstrate reliable, consistent, and punctual work-site attendance
  • Ability to utilize the required technology such as computers, phones, and tablets to complete job duties
  • Must be an organized, self-starter who can independently manage time effectively
  • Have the ability to handle varying workloads and the variable stress-levels associated with said workload
  • Ability to meet the quality and productivity standards required by the company

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of engineering drawings for all construction and fabrication work including detailed drawings, as-builts, schematics, and flow diagrams, P&ID's, and piping isometric drawings
  • Work with engineers in order to determine piping specifications and specialty items
  • Provide drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout, and calculations
  • Work under the direction of a Lead Mechanical/Piping Designer and providing advanced Microstation drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining mechanical and piping engineering drawings for use in fabrication and construction
  • Prepare Microstation 3D designs from general instruction and/or preliminary sketches, diagrams, or schematics
  • Assist management in verifying compliance with applicable design standards
  • Prepare Line Lists, Manual Valve Lists, and Drawings Lists
  • Maintain and update engineering drawing files and incorporating piping changes, modifications, and new construction into existing plant drawings using AutoCAD
  • Recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification
  • Produce complex technical drawings and piping isometrics
  • Prepare working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed finished product
  • Coordinate CAD projects with other discipline personnel
  • Maintain P&IDs, ISOs, and other construction blue print
  • Develop sketches on proposed drawings, flow sheets, and develop completed designs from sketches
  • Work with engineering, other professionals, and SMEs in order to obtain input to recommendation
