  • Manually guide welding gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molted puddle.
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Apply filler rod manually to supply weld metal.
  • Clean or degrease weld joints or work piece(s).
  • Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
  • Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
  • Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture.
  • At least 6 months of experience welding in the gas distribution industry.
  • Associate's degree or completion certificate from two-year college or trade school. (Experience in lieu of education may be considered.)
  • Current driver's license with good driving record.
  • Current DOT physical or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
