About The Position

Our USGO Appalachia Region - Brinker/Ellwood Area team is working to meet the needs of our business and we are growing to support the operation and maintenance of our natural gas pipelines and associated facilities throughout Eastern Ohio/ Western PA & surrounding areas. Our Leetonia Compressor Station is seeking a skilled Pipeline Technician who possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline systems, reciprocating compressors, turbines, gas measurement facilities, and other related equipment. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience locating and marking subsurface pipeline infrastructure
  • LOTO experience
  • Gas Handling
  • Previous energy industry or related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of reciprocating compressors, turbines, and standby generators
  • Knowledge of regulators and/or meters
  • Industrial experience in a plant environment
  • Class “A” Commercial driver's license with HAZMAT & Tank endorsements

Responsibilities

  • Locate and visually mark subsurface pipeline infrastructure with paint and/or flags
  • Oversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachments
  • Complete required Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company documentation
  • Perform pipeline maintenance activities such as leak repair, clearing and inspection of right-of-way, and assisting with tie-ins of mainline valves
  • Perform pipeline locates through the Ohio & Pennsylvania state one-call systems
  • Patrol pipeline right-of-way and assist with leak surveys
  • Operate company truck
  • Operate compressor engines and support equipment
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projects
  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired reciprocating compressors, turbines, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment
  • Complete work orders, generate gas handling plans, LOTO Equipment and pipeline segments for maintenance enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAP
  • Other tasks as required
