The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary. Coordinates and supervises the cleaning and television inspection of wastewater collection system force mains, trunk lines, manholes and treatment plant and pump station structures. Coordinates and supervises the SSES program to include Above and Below ground physical inspections, smoke testing and dye testing. Supervises location of ReWa infrastructure to include manholes, gravity lines and force mains to prevent damage. Supervises subordinate crew members; including scheduling; instructing; assigning, reviewing, and planning work of others; maintains standards; coordinates activities; selects new employees; acts on employee problems; recommends employee discipline and discharges as appropriate. Mentors, trains, and evaluates pipeline staff and promotes technical excellence and accountability. Fosters teamwork and cooperation through collaboration. Provides onboarding support for new techs and ongoing professional development for the team. Promotes adherence to ReWa safety standards and field operating procedures. Conducts performance reviews and recommends personnel actions to management. Handles and mitigates customer service issues related to the Collection system. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers training, advises and assists as needed. Manages assigned budget; monitors expenditures and prepares related reports as required. Receives, reviews and delegates work orders to staff. Estimates and coordinates the use of available equipment, materials, and personnel to obtain maximum effectiveness and cost-efficiency. Orders supplies, parts, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for daily activities. Supervises all TV inspections, cleaning activities, SSES work and other maintenance related work. Inspects work in progress and at completion for compliance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, contracts, and standards of quality and safety; gives technical advice and assistance to contractors, co-workers, and subordinates. Monitors productivity and directs changes as necessary. Prepares project reports and compiles technical data as required by regulatory agencies and for managerial decision-making and reporting purposes. Performs QAQC of all Cityworks work orders associated with the Pipeline teams. Provides recommendations and updates of current CMOM manual. Develops SOPs for Collection and Maintenance staff to follow based on current CMOM recommendations. Focuses on areas of improvements and make suggestions of implementation of improvements. Provides research, analysis and reports based on metrics and tracking of key point indicators. Inspects equipment for proper and safe working condition; coordinates the timely maintenance and repair of equipment as needed. Coordinates assigned activities and functions with those of other agency divisions, departments, and outside agencies as appropriate. Receives and responds to inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance from customers and the public regarding areas of responsibility. Serves as an on-call support 24 hours a day and responds to emergency situations as necessary and participates in emergency operations. Attends conferences, meetings, training, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills. Management may assign additional duties as trained for and qualified to do so related to the work of the position as necessary.
