About The Position

Plains is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil. We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key oil producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. This position will perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on specified pipeline assets and assist in other areas of pipeline operations depending upon experience level.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years petroleum industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to speak read and write English.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps and drawings.
  • Basic computer skills: Excel, Microsoft Office, Word, etc.
  • Ability to successfully complete company Haz-Mat training, required DOT operator qualifications to perform pipeline mechanical operations and mandatory safety training.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in moderate to heavy physically demanding working conditions, including working outdoors in an open environment with extremes of heat and cold.
  • Must have an outstanding safety record.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
  • This position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of their employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in routine and non-routine maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning of station, pipeline, and terminal facilities.
  • Clean and maintain pipeline right-of-ways.
  • Assist in pipeline repairs including ILI verification digs, pipeline change outs, re-coats, etc.
  • Assists with DOT required inspections.
  • Work to ensure Plains safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist in 24/7 Emergency Response.
  • Assist in pipeline construction and maintenance.
  • Act as relief for Station Operators as requested.
  • Locate and mark pipelines with locator and respond to “one call” system.
  • Assists with any other pipeline related duties as assigned.
