As a Pipe Layer, you will be a critical member of our pipe crew, responsible for the safe installation of water, sewer, and drainage systems. Your expertise will ensure that pipes are installed safely & correctly. Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Pipe Installation: Perform various repairs of sewer, water, and storm drainage pipes according to project plans, blueprints, and design specifications, ensuring proper connections, alignment, and grade. Knowledge of dewatering practices a plus. Safety: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements. Trenching and Excavation Support: Assist in trenching and excavation tasks, as needed, to prepare the work area for pipe installation by assisting in the installation of trench shields, sheeting & shoring equipment. Material Handling: Safely handle pipes, materials, and equipment required for the project, positioning them accurately for installation. Quality Control: Ensure that pipe installation work meets project standards and design specifications, including proper bedding and backfilling. Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the pipe crew, Pipe Crew Foreman, and other team members to coordinate pipe laying activities and achieve project goals. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors, reporting progress, challenges, and any issues as needed. Problem Solving: Identify and address operational challenges or issues that may arise during pipe laying and related tasks. Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and care of tools and equipment used for pipe installation.
