About The Position

Joseph J. Magnolia Inc is hiring Pipe layers for the Hyattsville offices. Pipe laying experience should be specific to Site Utility Work. We are hiring individuals experienced in installing and repairing water, storm water, and sewer pipe below the ground for main line and service laterals. Magnolia provides Flagging/traffic control and confined space training. This work is outside so one must be able to work in all weather conditions. We always have work, and the work is all over the DC Metropolitan area.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of pipe laying experience
• Extensive knowledge of various types of tools; ie: tampers, rammers and jackhammers, chain saw and other power tools
• Must poses physical ability to lift varying materials/pipe
• Any certifications / training related to OSHA standards is a plus
• Attention to detail
• Must have own transportation to each job location each day

Responsibilities

• Grade or level trench bases using tampering machines and hand tools
• Laser beam operator
• Hand Excavation and back filling for trenching and test pitting as required
• Measure, cut and connecting various types and size pipes
• Installation of lagging for trench support
• Cribbing, rigging, shoring, jacking and unloading of structures
• Installation/erection of fencing, guard rails, asphalt spreader
• Installation of concrete thrust block, vibrator operator
• Work in a safe and responsible manner with respect for yourself and others
• General clean up
