About The Position

Pipe layer SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Pipe Layer that will provide preparation, handling and supplying materials to be used each day. RESPONSIBILITIES Loading and unloading equipment Lift, unload, move, and set material associated with utility installation General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading of material Placing, pushing, pulling, shoveling concrete, dirt, or pipe bedding Vibrating concrete Provides work direction and guidance to laborer All other duties as assigned All team members are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics: Cooperate with others when in a team environment Accept direction from supervisors Follow work rules and procedures Punctual and consistent attendance Accept constructive feedback QUALIFICATIONS Equipment certifications as required A minimum of one year of related experience Must possess a valid driver’s license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements Ability to work with tools and equipment, such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and compaction equipment Basic survey experience including the ability to shoot grade and calculate rise over run. Understanding of installation specifications Detail orientation Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to follow instructions Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
