About The Position

The Pipefitter, Bayway Refinery works independently and with others to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. The Pipefitter assures compliance with all Company policies and procedures and training requirements. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Maintain a valid driver's license
Must be at least 18 years of age
Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/twic
Willing and able to perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following:
To climb up to 150 feet in height
To lift and transport materials (up to 50 pounds), bend, stoop, perform moderate manual labor, work in confined spaces, climb, and work at various levels above the ground
To maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
To wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to steel-toe shoes, ear protection, eye protection, fire retardant clothing, fall protection
To work overtime
To work outdoors including in inclement weather conditions
To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
To work around chemicals, including acids and bases, that may be under high pressure and heat
To read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, work permits, instruction manuals
To perform firefighting duties as needed

Nice To Haves

3 or more years of experience as a Pipefitter
3 or more years of experience in an industrial setting such as a refinery, petrochemical plant, nuclear powerplant, pharmaceutical plant, brewery, or mill

Responsibilities

Performing blinding, mechanical repair, replacement, fabrication, alteration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on fixed equipment assets including but not limited to: piping systems and valves heat exchangers and filters boilers and furnaces towers and reactors pressure vessels, tanks, structural systems, etc.
This position utilizes various hand and power tools, specialty tools, rigging equipment, and mobile equipment.
