About The Position

We are a diversified designer, supplier, installer, and servicer of engineered air systems and components for the industrial, life sciences, manufacturing, and mission critical markets. Our air treatment systems help control all internal conditions, including temperature, relative humidity, cleanliness, and ventilation. The Pipefitter position is a critical role for the company. This individual will follow all safety rules and regulations and work as a part of a team daily. The Pipefitter position will work under the guidance of a Field Superintendent or Project Manager depending on location of the work assignment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have high standards of quality with attention to detail.
  • Must possess ability to manage and supervise personnel.
  • Must build positive working relationships with multiple internal and external customers

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to field locations. The employee must have the ability to navigate around job site locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the construction industry and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
  • Operate a forklift and/or scissor lift
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, and other mechanical, technical, or construction programs.
  • Familiarity with project management/document control software.
  • Familiarity with construction/financial software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
  • Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
  • Cut and bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, and mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand and power tools.
  • Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.
  • Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems
  • Turn valves to shut off water or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
  • Remove and replace worn components.
  • Prepare cost estimates for clients.
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
  • Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors.
  • Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture of molten tin and lead to obtain a coating that prevents erosion or galvanic and electrolytic action.
