Now hiring a Full-Time Pipefitter with at least 3+ years of experience, to work at the shipyards in the Pensacola Marina. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Skilled tradesmen who can perform the work of developing and laying out, fitting, bolting up, assembling and installing pipe when used to form a part of an assembly in connection with ship construction, alteration, and repair specified by blueprints, work orders, or instructions from supervisor or management. In some cases and when the job requires assistance, a tacker-helper will assist the pipefitter. The pipefitter is responsible for building and/or repairing the complete piping systems in a metal ship. The pipefitter has the primary responsibility for manufacturing and installing interior and exterior components such as: Foundations, Hawse Pipes, Ladders, Mast, Racks, Railing, Sea Chest, Stanchions, Stowages, Tanks, Trunks, Yardarms, and Pipe spools, associated pumps, valves and other components which form the complete Ships’ systems. The Pipefitter repairs and/or removes damage ship piping systems and prepares surfaces for welding, burning, and lays out holes for drilling. This work is accomplished using miscellaneous hand and power tools. The Pipefitter may also be required to perform as a roll operator, punch operator, shear operator, track burner, drill and saw operator. The Pipefitter may also have to arrange for staging, crane service, ventilation, lighting, and support services (air, electricity, and water).
