Requirements

  • Ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and self-motivation while fostering a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to be consistently at work and on time on scheduled workdays.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to safely drive and operate lifting equipment such as forklift and jib cranes.
  • Working knowledge of gases, chemical, steam, condensate, hydraulic, stock and water systems.
  • Working knowledge of assembling pipes including welding and soldering techniques.
  • Willingness to work any shift as needed and follow the 'on-call' rotation process.
  • Willingness to learn new skills both mechanical and electrical.
  • Ability to manage time and complete work orders and maintenance rounds.
  • Chemical/mechanical/mathematical aptitude.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills.
  • Sound communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to use multiple computer programs/systems including MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety policies, OSHA regulations, ISO1400, QS9000 standards and policies.
  • Participate in quarterly Safety/Quality meetings and safety training sessions.
  • Install process piping following blueprint instructions while adhering to industry standards.
  • Inspect and repair pipes running to equipment by following repair instructions or deciphering blueprints.
  • Utilize trade skills for rigging, welding, mechanical rebuilding of equipment throughout the facility.
  • Read and analyze project assignments to design and implement necessary installations or repairs.
  • Provide estimates on the cost of parts and labor.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
  • Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement programs.
  • Participate, cooperate and engage during cross training of personnel for efficiency optimization and personal multi-skills development within the department and the plant.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.
