About The Position

Responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing high pressure piping systems and equipment, such as steam heating, steam generation, hydraulic systems, flash and expansion tanks, condensate, vacuum, and circulating pumps and radiators. Operates forklifts up to 15,000 pound capacity and motor vehicles up to 5 ton capacity. Must have a state pipefitter license (journeyman level) (TX or AR). Essential Responsibilities: 1. Lay out work and measure to locate position of pipe from drawings or other written specifications. 2. Cut various sizes of pipe to correct lengths with chisel and hammer, oxyacetylene torch or pipe-cutting machines, threading pipe with stocks and dies. 3. Responsible for bending pipe by hand-driven or power-driven machines. 4. Assemble pipe with couplings and fastening pipe to hangers. 5. Make standard shop computations relating to pressures, flow and size of pipe required; and make standard tests to determine whether finished pipes meet specification. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Shop environment, in which mechanical equipment is operated, is loud and noisy, and some pieces of equipment have exposed moving components. Must be able to stand and bend for long periods. Must be able to push and test vehicles and heavy objects. Routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required. Occasional use of safety glasses and hearing protection required. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a journeyman level with a minimum of four (4) years of experience.
  • Must have a state pipefitter license (journeyman level) (TX or AR).
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check is required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Access to the Depot requires all covered individuals to be registered with the United States Selective Service.
