Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Apply mathematics to solve problems
  • Fabricate and install gaskets
  • Perform cutting/threading operations using a machine
  • Use measuring tools and portable power tools
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria
  • Test pipe and tube installations
  • Secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools
  • Install pipe systems and components
  • Interpret detailed pipe sketches and blueprints
  • Install valves and components
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of material and work pieces during installation
  • Fabricate and install pipe fittings
  • Identify, fabricate, and install pipe hangers and supports
  • Rig material and equipment
  • Fabricate pipe systems
  • Perform clean-up duties
  • Perform other duties as required
