About The Position
The primary function of this position is to perform welding functions according to jobsite specifications, covering various welding procedures, brazing, and cutting on all types of pipe in an industrial construction environment. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the company's core values, ensuring high moral standards and compliance with the company's code of business conduct and ethics. The welder will work collaboratively with peers, supervision, and the QA/QC Department, selecting equipment and planning the layout and assembly of welding tasks. Responsibilities include welding pipes of various kinds, sizes, and alloys using multiple processes such as ARC, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, GAS, MIG, and TIG. The welder will also be responsible for fitting up pipes, performing grinding when necessary, and welding on structural steel and non-piping components. All welds are subject to NDE testing, including visual, hydro, and 100% x-ray inspections. The position requires working within precise limits and standards of accuracy, and the welder must possess current certifications in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW or FCAW. Other related duties may be assigned as needed, including identifying safety hazards and taking corrective actions to minimize risks.
