About The Position

Welder performs pipe welding/fitting for stainless and carbon steel pipes.  Pipe welder will have daily responsibilities to trouble shoot and repair process piping and equipment and perform preventive maintenance on equipment within the facility. Working under the direction and supervision of others; performs welding for stainless and carbon steel pipes.  Read and interpret work orders, flow sheets, blueprint drawings, vendor specs, and/or P&ID’s to understand issue and to determine required repairs.  Proficient in TIG welding, mig welding, stick welding         Performs all types of welding, brazing and soldering repair, replace, and installation of stainless and carbon steel plate and pipe, aluminum, copper and all other metals. Proficient in using hand, power and shop tools. Process equipment assembly and installation. Equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting and problem solving. Pipe fitting rigging and equipment installation      Assist with process equipment assembly and installation. Perform lubrication on equipment as needed and directed. Complete data entry into the work order system as required.  Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient in TIG welding, mig welding, stick welding
  • Proficient in using hand, power and shop tools
  • Must take the following 6G tests as part of the interview process: 2" carbon steel tig root, tig cover 6" schedule 40, tig root, stick cover, 7018 2" stainless steel, tig root, tig cover
