About The Position

The Pipe & Valve Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and reviewing plant design and piping work requirements. The candidate's technical input will ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved. The position will require the P&V Engineer to develop the piping line class sheets as well as maintain the pipe, fittings, valves, and misc. piping hardware products and specifications related to the procurement activities.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education, and travel.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Knowledgeable of standard piping codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, IPC, etc.
  • Prior experience developing piping material class sheets & technical specifications.
  • Familiar with Smart Plant Reference Data.
  • Familiar with Oracle Agile.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and execution of material requisitions for bulk pipe, valves and supports, and other piping components.
  • Preparation of pipe and piping component related calculations, minimum pipe wall thickness calculations, and material evaluations to ASME B31.1, B31.1 and other codes & standards.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and maintain piping and valve technical specifications, piping material class sheets/specifications and/or material requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations.
  • Perform detailed supplier bid technical evaluations and supplier document reviews.
  • Review Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) for piping material applicability.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain function (Buyers, Expeditors, etc.) as well as various suppliers regarding technical requirements of purchase orders.
  • Disposition of supplier deviation requests and Request for Information (RFIs).
  • Disposition of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and Field Change Documents (FCDs) generated by Construction.
