Pipe Superintendent
About The Position
Esposito Construction has major sitework projects underway in throughout New Jersey and we’re looking for an experienced working Pipe Super to ensure optimum productivity and construction compliance. Must have experience with installation of utilities as well as knowledge of various sizes and types of drain pipe. If you are physically able to work on your feet 40+ hours a week and love working both in & outside than this is the job for you. Above all else, we value the safety of our workers and need a team player that believes in working safe and being on time/early every day.
Requirements
- Proven experience in underground utility construction, heavy civil site work, or related field
- Strong understanding of trenching, pipe installation, excavation, backfilling, and utility work
- Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to direct crews and coordinate with subcontractors and management
- Knowledge of OSHA and trench safety standards, and a strong commitment to safety culture
- Ability to read plans, schedules, and specifications and translate them into actionable daily tasks
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple active job sites , ensuring each crew is productive and projects are progressing on schedule
- Lead crews in trenching, excavation, backfilling, and pipe installation for water, sewer, storm, and other underground utilities
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and subcontractors across sites to ensure timely project execution
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to plans and specifications
- Enforce safety protocols on every site, including trench safety, utility clearance, shoring, and overall crew awareness
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to foremen, operators, and laborers, ensuring crews are working efficiently and collaboratively
- Communicate proactively with project managers, engineers, and clients regarding progress, potential issues, and schedule adjustments
- Review and contribute to daily and weekly reports, documenting work completed, resource utilization, and any challenges or delays
- Resolve on-site issues, including conflicts, technical problems, and coordination challenges, to keep projects on track
