About the position

A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Pipe Superintendent for our large heavy civil project located in Tampa, FL. The role involves overseeing various aspects of pipeline construction, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and managing field operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of FDOT standards in relation to storm water and roadway.
  • Safety management.
  • Management of field operations in the assigned area.
  • Quality Control oversight.
  • Planning and scheduling inspections and interactions with inspectors regarding the assigned area.
  • Scheduling and oversight of subcontractors in the assigned area.
  • Attendance at weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Responsible for planning and execution, including managing 4-week lookahead schedules and daily schedules.
  • Assisting in developing work plans.
  • Reviewing and being familiar with prime contract documents, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Reviewing and being familiar with subcontract agreements.
  • Conducting Foreman Meetings.
  • On-site coordination with subcontractors.
  • Coordination with in-house equipment department.
  • Following company safety program, laws, and OSHA operating standards.
  • Managing job-site cleanliness.
  • Reviewing timesheets for field personnel.
  • Preparing daily reports.
  • Mentoring and helping grow Assistant Superintendents and Foremen.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with Owner, Engineer, and Subcontractors.
  • Attending cost review meetings to help forecast the budget for future operations and identify cost variances.
  • Facilitating 4-week lookahead meetings, attendance required.
  • Equipment utilization and forecasting mobilization and demobilization.
  • Material ordering and cost control.
  • Inspecting lines, grades, and confirming all testing prior to calling inspection or engineer to witness.
  • Verifying pay application quantities.
  • Verifying stored materials meet storage requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership in managing large-scale pipeline projects.
  • Strong knowledge of steel pipe installation techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of common MS office programs.
  • Willingness to work long hours.
