About The Position

The position involves working with pipe installations, specifically in the water and sewer sectors. The candidate must be able to read Cut Sheets and effectively communicate with supervisors and foremen to align and lay out different pipe routes. Responsibilities include signaling equipment operators, connecting various pipe fittings, and ensuring proper installation techniques are followed. The role requires hands-on work, including setting trench grades and performing installations using both mechanical and hand tools.

Requirements

• Ability to read Cut Sheets.
• Experience in pipe installation and utility work.
• Knowledge of water and sewer pipe fittings and installation techniques.
• Familiarity with trenching tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret Cut Sheets.
• Position, align, and lay out differing pipe routes by communicating with supervisors/foreman.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Connect water and sewer pipe fittings, including PVC push on fittings and ductile iron mechanical joint fittings.
• Install proper bell joint restraint using bell harnesses and a joint restraint table.
• Set final trench grades by hand digging or using trenching tools.
• Set trench boxes and perform pipe installations using mechanical tampering equipment or hand tools.
• Load, unload, identify, and distribute utility materials according to project plans and specifications.
