About The Position

DCS Contracting, Inc. is seeking experienced underground wet utility Pipe Layers to join our high performing team. The Pipe Layer is responsible for laying pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. This position performs any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints. They also install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.

Requirements

• 1+ year of construction pipe laying or laborer experience required
• General knowledgeable of OSHA standards and requirements
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Willingness to learn and accept direction from field supervision
• Must be a team player and be willing to help out wherever is needed for the success of the project
• Safety first mindset, MUST stop work if something is unsafe
• Reliable transportation and work schedule flexibility
• Ability to get the job done with minimal supervision
• MUST be reliable and dependable
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work shift
• Must be able to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks

Responsibilities

• Cut pipes to required lengths
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials
• Install or repair sanitary or stormwater sewer structures or pipe systems
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations
• Knowledgeable in Blue Stake markings
• Meet production goals from the direction of the site Foreman or Superintendent
• Performs other duties as required and assigned
• Adheres to all DCS Contracting safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management
