About The Position

The Pipe Fitter position at Gulf Copper Ship Repair Inc. involves planning, installing, and repairing pipe systems according to specifications. Requirements

• High School Diploma or one-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
• 1st Class: 3-5 years of industrial and/or marine pipe fitting experience.
• 2nd Class: 1-3 years of industrial and/or marine pipe fitting experience.
• NCCER card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines using various methods.
• Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
• Layout or review full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
• Cut, thread, and install pipe to specifications using appropriate tools.
• Remove and replace worn components.
