About The Position

Pipefitters are responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fitting utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements and blueprints.

Requirements

Minimum 2 to 4 years verifiable marine or industrial pipefitting experience
Must know Ship terminology
Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
Must be able to read marine blueprints and work standard and metric specifications
Ability to layout, fabricate, fit, and install pipe
Must be able to burn and bevel carbon steel pipe with hand torch
Testing will consist of written comprehensive exam and hands-on testing to include: from a pipe detail drawing, an applicant must be able to fit up a pipe assembly.
Must be able to figure a rolling 90, and 45 degree off-set and be able to fit flanges and valves
Must pass drug test (HFT) and E-Verify
Must be able to work all shifts
Must be able to work in confined spaces, ascend and work at heights, under all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of setting and erecting units with proficiency in the use of Datum Lines is preferred
Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blueprint reading skills is preferred
