About The Position

C2O Americas is seeking an experienced Piping & Steel Quantity Surveyor to support a large-scale greenfield project execution. This role is critical in ensuring accurate quantity tracking, cost control, and reporting across piping and structural steel scopes.

Requirements

  • Expert understanding of piping systems and structural steel materials, fabrication, and installation methods.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, BOQ development, and cost estimating on EPC greenfield projects.
  • Ability to interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings, and 3D models.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME B31.3, API, ASTM, and AISC.
  • Understanding of project controls, earned value management, and integration with procurement and construction tracking.
  • 8–12 years of quantity surveying experience focused on piping and structural steel in large-scale greenfield projects (preferably $500M+ in oil & gas, LNG, power, or heavy industry).
  • Proven experience managing quantities through full project lifecycle to completion on at least two major projects.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in: AutoCAD, Navisworks / SmartPlant, Advanced Excel, Quantity surveying software (Candy, Buildsoft, CostX, or equivalent)
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet site medical, drug & alcohol, and security requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional membership (e.g., RICS, AIQS, or equivalent) is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and update detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs for piping (carbon steel, stainless steel, exotic alloys) and structural steel.
  • Extract and validate quantities from IFC drawings, isometrics, and 3D models (Navisworks, SmartPlant) and structural fabrication drawings.
  • Track and report installed vs. planned quantities, identifying variances and potential over/under-runs.
  • Verify and reconcile EPC contractor and subcontractor quantity submissions and progress claims.
  • Generate accurate material requisitions, forecasts, and bulk orders in coordination with procurement.
  • Support variation orders, change notices, and claims related to piping and steel quantities.
  • Conduct site measurements and progress verification during construction.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, cost control, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly reports, dashboards, and forecasts for project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all quantity data is traceable, audit-ready, and compliant with project and contractual requirements.
