About The Position

The PIP Adjuster at Safety Insurance Company is responsible for the fair and accurate handling of personal injury protection and medical payment claims. This role involves investigating, evaluating, and settling claims while ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines. Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent insurance coursework/experience required.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Prior PIP experience required.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review liability to control the company's exposure by assessing assigned claims for PIP and Med Pay policy exclusions.
• Identify potential fraud using established indicators such as prior losses and severe injuries with no physical damage.
• Reassign potential BI and UM/UD claims appropriately.
• Contact insureds, attorneys, and others to gather required information in accordance with C.A.R. guidelines.
• Send lost wage forms to employers and request disability statements as needed.
• Schedule IMEs and discuss requirements with providers.
• Pay submitted bills according to established procedures.
• Answer questions from insureds, claimants, attorneys, and others, resolving problems within established levels of authority.
• Develop and maintain case files that document all actions taken.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other activities as required.
