About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician at Essentia Health plays a crucial role in the pharmacy team, primarily responsible for processing prescriptions and providing excellent customer service. This position involves inventory control, compounding, managing automation systems, and supporting the pharmacist and pharmacy leadership with various tasks.

Requirements

• Must meet one of the education/experience categories defined by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician with continuous registration since before January 1st, 2013.
• Completion of a board-approved technician training program.
• Completion of the Essentia Health employer-based technician training program within one year of hire.
• State registration in the state of employment is required before hire.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or equivalent (e.g., GED).
• Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification must be earned and maintained within 2 years of hire.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Interact with and assist customers to ensure a positive experience.
• Manage inventory control and maintain supplies.
• Perform non-sterile and/or sterile compounding as required.
• Care for pharmacy supplies and equipment.
• Manage automation systems within the pharmacy.
• Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy leadership with other assigned duties.
