The primary function of this position is to operate a fleet of corporate aircraft for business purposes while ensuring the highest levels of safety, professionalism, diplomacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times. The Aircraft Flight Crew reports directly to the Aviation Department Manager and are responsible for the safe conduct of company flights. The Captain has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft. He/she must be able to accept responsibility, solve problems, meet deadlines and perform efficiently in an environment that continually changes. The crew must ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and foreign regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. The flight crew is the company’s most visible representative to the passengers and must act with tact and decorum while ensuring an efficient and safe operation.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted U.S. passport or ability to obtain one.
  • Valid medical certificate (1st or 2nd class).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Relevant experience flying turboprop aircraft.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAR Part 91 and 135 regulations.
  • Familiarity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) rules and regulations.
  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience flying multi-engine propeller driven aircraft.
  • Instrument rating.
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute safe flights in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies/procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate logbooks and documentation for both flight and aircraft.
  • Perform pre-flight checks on aircraft to ensure proper airworthiness and communications equipment is operational.
  • Manage pilot scheduling in support of global operations.
  • Conduct training sessions as required by new pilots or existing pilots moving to different aircraft types.
  • Comply with security requirements and export control laws/regulations.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
  • Coordinate ground transportation and accommodations for passengers.
  • Interact professionally with internal and external customers to provide updates on flight status, delays and cancellations.
  • Adhere to company’s international Travel Policy and other applicable guidelines.
  • Preparation for weather, fuel range, expected routing, turbulence, ATC delays, and mechanical condition of the aircraft is all factors to be given the utmost consideration.
  • Act as pilot in command (PIC) or second in command (SIC) of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled.
  • Provide unsurpassed customer service to passengers.
  • Comply with schedules, and other directives governing the aircraft’s operation including “pop up” flights.
  • Review weather conditions at destination, en-route, and alternate airports and departure points.
  • Prepare and fill flight plans.
  • Review and calculate the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts. Maintain and update charts, publications and databases as assigned.
  • Proper use of checklists.
  • In the case of the Captain, supervising the second in command (SIC) in any duties necessary for the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Monitor crew performance, sharing knowledge and encourage crew resource management (CRM).
  • Make decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate.
  • Maintain records as required by FAR’s, aircraft manufacturers, and company policies.
  • Aircraft “squawks” are to be logged on a discrepancy form and reported to the maintenance department and the Dept. Manager.
  • Ensure that preflight and post flight inspections are performed by spot cleaning of the aircraft before, while on the road and upon return to base. This includes disposal of trash, catering, and coffee, straightening of seatbelts, cleaning of spills and may include wiping down engine nacelles and cleaning of windshields. If the flight schedule does not permit proper aircraft cleaning, an outside source may be used with the Dept. Manager’s approval.
  • Fill out and submit for approval pilot expenses to the Dept. Manager. Expenses should be kept to moderate levels and conform to Jabil’s travel guidelines.
  • The Dept. Manager may assign other duties such as shopping, clerical work, research, manual and report generation, computer work etc.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
