The Steel Dynamics Aviation Team Steel Dynamics is committed to achieving world class safety performance, and safety is always at the forefront of decision making across the company. Our corporate flight department reflects that same culture through disciplined planning, crew coordination, and active participation in our Safety Management System, supporting a modern fleet that includes Challenger 3500s. The team averages approximately 300 to 350 flight hours annually, with a schedule that can range from weeks with little to no flying to higher tempo weeks of 20 to 30 hours, and a predictable planning cadence where most flights are scheduled about a week in advance and short notice callouts are rare.
