To efficiently and effectively operate the pilot plant equipment in order to develop and scale-up new products, modify current products, and produce semi-commercial product as required in support of the facility and business.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent (college or trade school experience a plus)
  • 5+ years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good problem-solving, math and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and willingness to accept responsibility for work area.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new product chemistries and their corresponding chemical processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in MS Office preferred.
  • SAP, Provox, and Delta V experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of chemistries in the pilot plant and mentors new employees.
  • Operates all pilot plant equipment (reactors, filter systems, etc.) and uses DCS to control equipment.
  • Troubleshoots problems with pilot plant equipment and processes, alerts supervision of problems with pilot plant equipment and processes when necessary.
  • Writes pilot plant SOPs as needed, modifies and approves equipment operating procedures and MOC’s.
  • Analyzes and interprets analytical issues to determine how to proceed with the batch(s) or experiments.
  • Collects, stores, and labels pilot plant wastes as accumulated with awareness to ensure all environmental requirements are met.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
