About the position

The Pilot Plant Scientist Group Leader will be responsible for performing multiple tasks within the Process Development group in support of biologics manufacturing process. The Scientist will perform a variety of responsibilities in both a team and individual setting. This position is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Developing and/or improving pharmaceutical (biologics) manufacturing processes
• Planning experiments, routine analytical measurements operating filtration systems, analyzing data, and writing reports
• Protein purification process development and improvement
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration on critical instrumentation
• Buffer preparation
• Operate automated processes including process monitoring
• Monitors and coaches through the day-to-day operations of direct reports
• Coordinate’s scheduling of work/training
• Performs administrative tasks related to team member growth and development
• May be responsible for maintaining multiple projects
• Participates in overtime, weekend, and holiday testing when needed

Requirements

• BS degree in biological or related sciences or at least one year of related experience
• Professional industrial leadership experience
• Experience with large scale-up equipment
• Understanding of protein separation
• Effective oral and written communications
• Strong problem-solving skills
